PokerPlayer UK Open

4:50pm. Just woke up after attending the PokerPlayer UK Open at The Loose Cannon card club. It was a pretty good night with a few players present from the Blonde Poker and Punter's Lounge forums. My tourney didn't go too well, and in the end got busted when I went all-in blind UTG with 52o!

$10,000 Loose Change

After over 5 hours I beat 998 other players to win the PokerHost Money Madness $100K freeroll - turning $0 into $10,000!

Using my most recent new alias, "TightMoney" - the name of a song by Leon Huff, I navigated my way to the final table stealthly only having to get lucky once. My all-in open raise with AT outdrawing JJ. Didn't get bullets for the whole turney, but an above average run of cards at the final table and no outdraws aswell as skillful short stack play meant that I arrived heads-up almost level.

I suggested that we made a deal as we were so even, but to be truthful, I fancied my chances against him since I had a good read on his style and I believed I could grind him down. Facing a standard button raise though I reraised with TT. He pushed all-in and I called beating his 44. It was all over the next hand. DaMatrix 1/999!

I don't usually report tournament results where I didn't play as DaMatrix, but I had to make an expection today because of all the bad luck I have been having lately as DaMatrix. Plus, 1st/999 is my best performance since unreported 1st/550+ and 2nd/730+.

Update: Just won the next tournament that I played for an unlikely 70,000+/1 back-to-back. By best is a 250,000+/1 back-to-back (2 consecutive 500+ runner tournaments).

Drink Driving Donk

Following the 3-car accident last month, 26th of October, a drink driving donk late last night ploughed into the back of my parked car.

The bad beats keep coming!

Talk Sport $1500 TV Freeroll

Finished 6/364 in the Take Sport Magazine TV Freeroll on Poker333 that was shown on Poker Night Live. At the final table I took a 100k+ beat when my QQ lost to A4s. Then I gambled with the short stack but my 'gay waiter', Q3, lost to the 'big chick' AQ. Out shortly after when my AQ lost to 43.

By the way, my Q3 play was called "catastrophic" by the presenters.

Cool! ;)

Look out for the final table report in Take Sport Magazine.

Prima $138 Aussie Millions Weekly Final

Almost turned $0 (qualified via a freeroll) into $1400 but finished in the bubble for a seat to the Prima/MicroGaming Aussie Millions Final on December 10th. Should have really won a seat but made a bad call with AK with 9 left after the short stacked had raised and the second short stack had gone all in. I was trying to get it down to the 8-handed final table ASAP so I called to try and bust him - I was also expecting original raiser to call so that the FT bubble would have burst for sure. Original raiser folded though and my AK lost to KK.

I was second in chips at the time and had almost locked in a seat. I should have let the two short stacks fight for the pot which would have resolved the final table bubble without any risk to my chips. Both short stacks ended up earning a $1,400 seat due to my mistake and I bubbled when my AK lost to the mighty 'DaMatrix', KQ.

November Pain

I should have been in Singapore playing in the Betfair Asian Poker Tour if it wasn't for extreme bad luck. Instead, I am feeling a bit like the poor kid below.

Skill Matrix Win

I won the October Skill League after coming 2nd in August and 3rd in September. Last month's winner, owenmoney, finished second. It was really a tie though as we decided to chop the 1st and 2nd place prize money and play for 1st.

Final October Skill League Table

I had a great chance to break the 2000 point barrier but I forgot to deregister from a tourney that I couldn't play and lost 15 points when I was up to 1982 points on the penultimate day.
